Warts are a skin disease characterized by the formation of small tumor-like growths on the surface of the skin.
The sizes of warts are diverse. Formations can be the size of a pin needle and reach the size of a ruble coin.
The disease is viral in nature and is transmitted through direct contact or through household items used by both sick and healthy people.
As a rule, such growths cause psychological discomfort, since often the places of their localization are visible parts of the body. Warts can be treated with pharmaceutical drugs, folk remedies or hardware procedures.
Varieties of warts
- ordinary (simple) - grayish-brown nodules of a round shape with a rough surface. These warts usually appear on the hands, face and scalp. Common in children and adults. Single warts do not cause any pain, but are quite unpleasant from an aesthetic point of view, since they can form entire colonies of benign tumor-like formations;
- plantar warts - occur, as the name suggests, on the plantar surface. In appearance, they resemble corns, consisting of filiform papillae surrounded by horny layers. The reasons for the appearance of plantar warts include the constant pressure of shoes and the formation of an unfavorable microclimate in the area of the soles. When walking, such formations deliver painful emotions and require adequate treatment;
- flat warts are small nodules that barely protrude above the surface of the skin. They have a yellowish or flesh color and are most often seen in young people. Flat warts form on the hands and face. As a rule, they are absolutely painless;
- venereal warts (condyloma) - got their name because they are transmitted during sexual contact and affect, respectively, the external genitalia.
The main reason for the appearance of warts in men is a viral lesion of the skin. The pathogen is transmitted to healthy people through direct contact with a carrier of the virus or through household items. Also, skin sweating, minor injuries, burns, and some other factors can contribute to the condition. So, for example, plantar warts are easy to catch when visiting the pool or showering in the gym.
Treatment of warts
Currently, methods of combating warts are generally divided into medicine and surgery. The first involve the use of ointments, the use of antiviral drugs, applications of destructive chemicals. All these actions have relatively low effectiveness and can help only with the appearance of single formations, and even in the early stages. For this reason, modern treatment of warts is based on the use of surgical methods, which, in turn, are divided into:
- surgical;
- cryodestruction methods;
- radio wave surgery;
- operations performed using laser technology.
The first two methods are characterized by a painful operation and a long healing period. In addition, if not used correctly, they can lead to scarring and the reappearance of warts. Radio wave and laser surgery overcomes these shortcomings and provides patients with quick, bloodless and painless treatment for warts on the hands, soles of the feet and other parts of the body.
Warts - folk treatment
People have a variety of recipes for getting rid of unpleasant skin growths. Here are the most popular of them:
- plantar warts are easily removed by applying to them a cake consisting of a clove of garlic, 1 teaspoon of vinegar essence and wheat flour. Apply a small amount of this test to the wart and secure it with a plaster or bandage. The dressing is removed after 2-3 hours. If it has not disappeared, the wart removal procedure is repeated again. Also note that small painful dimples will appear in place of the fallen formations. A bandage with an ointment is applied to them, which is worn until the wounds are completely healed;
- warts on the hands are quickly removed with the help of pinnate Kalanchoe leaves. Attach them to the warts and wrap them with a bandage. After 3-4 procedures, the warts will disappear;
- effective mixture, which is prepared from garlic and lard. Spread it on a cloth, put it on the wart and fix the bandage with a bandage. It is necessary to change the mass of garlic tallow every day. The course of treatment lasts 4-5 days;
- it has been noticed that if every day the wart is rubbed with sour apple juice, it will start to shrink in size and disappear completely after about 10 days. Fresh juice of mountain ash or tomatoes has a similar effect;
- crushed blueberry seed powders have a good result. They should be done daily. You can also mix the powder with lard and get an ointment to remove warts.
Remember that if you have warts, an alternative treatment should be agreed with your doctor or an experienced homeopath. Do not self-medicate, as this can lead to unexpected and sometimes very unpleasant consequences.
